This is a list of inhabitants in Bulgaria in the 1930s...You can see the places where it says "Macedonian" but they're stroked and over "Macedonian" in red is written "Bulgarian".
It can clearly be seen that the Bulgarians have been trying to assimilate the Macedonians.
